With a rich history that extends over 50 years, the college offers internationally accredited courses in the training of pilots for Private Pilot License (PPL) and Commercial Pilot License (CPL). The training is performed on the helicopters AK-3 and Mi-2.
The aviation industry has always been and will always be at the peak of scientific, technological and industrial achievement. Ukraine boasts a powerful and advanced aircraft industry, featuring a vast network of air communication with many countries around the world. Today, Kiev National Aviation University remains as a powerful base for the preparation of aviation specialists in Ukraine. The university is comprised of:
· Kremenchug Flight College
· Slavyansk College
· Krivoy Rog College
As the most prominent of the three, Kremenchug Flight College was founded in 1960. Over the course of its existence, more than 60,000 aviaspecialists from the Community of Independent States and about 6,000 citizens from 67 countries (including Australia, Bulgaria, Burundi, Canada, China, Cuba, India, Iraq, Japan, Laos, Libya, Mexico, Nepal, Spain and USA) have graduated from this college. 14 types of aircrafts (12 types of Mil & Kamov helicopters, including heavy helicopters Ìi-8, Êà-32, Ìi-8ÌÒV, Ìi-6, Ìi-26Ò) have been mastered. The College has a fleet of helicopters, a modern educational and laboratory base, a simulator center and aerodrome, student hostels, a hotel, canteens, a stadium, sports grounds, and other facilities. The college has been specially designed to teach information effectively and closely monitors progress to achieve the highest calibre of student.
The College has living accommodations suitable for over 500 cadets, with each room for two to four persons. A dining room with qualified personnel and appropriate equipment can handle over 300. The quality and calorie content of the prepared food is under strict daily administrative and medical control. There is a separate hall for foreign specialists, where first-rate chefs prepare food under the requirements of the national kitchen.
The College's aerodrome features optimal climatic conditions and has an attached network of transport facilities for the ready supply of fuel and oils, spare parts, equipment, etc. The initial training of pilots is performed on the helicopters Mi-2, Mi-8 with a 3-year training term. The College conducts education and training in all varieties of professional skills, improving and conversed training of flight and engineering personnel on the helicopters Ìi-2, Ìi-8, Mi-17(Mi-8MTV), Mi-26T, KA-32 as well as the complex conversed training of flight and engineering personnel as directed by aviation companies and firms. Theoretical and flight training programs may be changed according to the unique preferences of the customer. The College leases its facilities, including helicopters, as well as services such as carrying out various transportation tasks by its own helicopters and crews. Flight crews have completed training for flights in even the worst of weather-minimums. They have permission to complete:
· international flights;
· flights in mountainous areas;
· construction work;
· forest patrolling and forest fire-extinguishing missions, etc.

Alongside the training of aviation specialists, since 1996 the College conducts speciality training for "Book-keeping" with the term of training of two years. The institute is always happy to receive any inquiries and new contacts.
Flight training
Flight training of cadets is carried out on Ìi-2 and Ìi-8 helicopters. In contrast to the old standards, when practically the entire flight training program was performed in airfield conditions, now, the substantial part of educational flights is combined with industrial training. It allows cadets to earn money and to achieve a very important purpose - operational orientation of training. On graduating, cadets will be familiar with organization, maintenance and performance of industrial flights. They will receive a commercial pilot certificate and diploma that recognizes that they graduated from an above-average special educational institution. Flight training of domestic and foreign pilots on Ìi-2, Ìi-8, Ìi-8ÌÒÂ, Êà-32, Ìi-26Ò helicopters is carried out under these programs that have appropriate international standards. The College has simulators of cabin procedures on Ìi-2, Ìi-8ÌÒÂ, Ìi-26Ò helicopters and complex simulators on the Ìi-8 ÊÒÂ Ìi-8 helicopter. Highly experienced and skilled first rate pilots, instructors and commanders conduct the training. Many of them have over 20 years of experience in flight-methodical work. More than 25% of the flight staff of the College have admission to implement international flights and vast experience of their implementation in Turkey, Spain, Mexico, Burundi and other countries.
Theoretical training
The theoretical training of pilots is carried out under the programs of training on initial type helicopter Ìi-2 and final type helicopter Ìi-8. The programs correspond to the state standard of education and fulfill the conditions of multilevel training for airspecialists. This allows graduates to continue training at the State Flight Academy of Ukraine (Kirovograd) and in other higher level schools within the aviation industry. Programs of training can be transformed, taking into account the preferences of the customer within the limits of the standard of education. The audiences, educational studies and laboratories of the facilities are well equipped. They consider specificity of training and utilize modernized teaching systems, an improvement of practical skills on procedural simulators and computerized learning tools. The College prepares novice pilots or amateurs on superlight aircrafts by using the helicopter Ìi-2 under the separate programs. The teachers, 90% of which have specialist qualifications and over 25 years of experience, conduct training.
Commercial Activities
Commercial activities of the Kremenchug Flight College at the National Aviation University are directed, first of all, at the preservation and expansion of mutually beneficial relations with enterprises, aviation companies, as well as prospects both in Ukraine and abroad. The purpose is to improve the effectiveness of provided aviation services and educational services, to abate the costs of budgetary funds and increase the financial position of the College. In 2008, the College purchased two new Ukrainian superlight AK1-3 helicopters with funds derived from commercial activities. With these new helicopters, training flights are now able to be performed. The College implements on a commercial basis the training of national and foreign specialists and in addition, provides aviation services to enterprises, institutions, firms, companies and private persons on AK1-3, Mi-2, Mi-8 and Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters. The College has taken root in the European-Asian market of air services, where its helicopters and crews perform different types of work:
· transportation of the passengers, mail and cargo;
· fire-fighting;
· construction & assembly work;
· rescue work;
· flights on floating drills
· oil and gas pipeline patrolling etc.
Additionally, the College leases accommodations, carries out responsible storage of fuels and oil, provides transportation and medical services, and leases their club and dining hall for solemn and ritual events.
